About Leia Graham
Founder of A.T.H.A Space. B Phty, B.A.
Identifying the root cause of a person’s pain, helping them to understand why they’re hurting and empowering them to take control and actively engage in optimizing their health – connecting their brain, body and mind – underpins my passion for physiotherapy and healing.
Leia is a registered physiotherapist and Yoga teacher.
Leia has been working as a physiotherapist in Brisbane since 2008. She graduated from Centro Universitario IBMR in Brazil with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2002 and has since completed many post-graduate courses in musculoskeletal including Maitland, Muscle Energy, Neural Mobilization, Explain Pain, Graded Motor Imagery and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization.
Leia is highly experienced and has a special interest in treating chronic and persistent pain patients. She has always been passionate about the involvement of the brain/mind in connection with the body. Her extensive studies and training in brain-mind-body scientific methodologies have enriched her biopsychosocial approach to physiotherapy.
Leia is also experienced in sports injury and performance management. She enjoys working with athletes to improve their performance and diminish their risk of injury in their chosen sport. Since becoming a yoga teacher in March 2017, Leia has utilised her knowledge to help ordinary people get into yoga practice safely and use the yoga poses and philosophy part of the tools for their healing.
When she’s not at work, Leia is a busy wife and mum who loves spending time painting and drawing with her girls. She’s a long-time health and wellness advocate who enjoys natural cooking, gardening and essential oils. She is an eternal student of the human body, science and spirituality. Leia also loves catching up with friends and she believes that laughter and joy are the best medicines for living life happily and fully.
